"Dance like Douen - move forward with footprints looking back"
Bio hir
Originally from Trinidad, I am an artist living in Wales since 2003. I am interested in carnival, masquerade and ritual and the ways in which we perform our fragments – the ways we express identity and belonging in the diaspora – through memory, re-imagination and the making of sacred spaces.

I am a carnival scholar with a PhD in Critical and Cultural Theory from Cardiff University. Founder of Laku Neg Limited and fashion design brand Add an Apron Ltd, I also hold a National Qualification NOCN Level 3 Diploma in Funeral Celebrancy.
