Art, especially painting, has the potential to bring about deep and meaningful changes in a person's life. It is a powerful language of expression that can challenge preconceived notions while telling stories of cultural resistance, rebellion, excellence, emancipation, and one's sense of place and delight. Art has the power to inspire and heal, and its impact can be seen far beyond its imagery, whether in the beauty of a landscape, the emotional intensity of an abstract work or the likeness of a portrait. It is a force capable of touching the artist and viewers personally.
Through my experience with painting, I have come to see my world in a new light, challenge assumptions, delve into personal and art theoretical issues, and help myself to be confidently creative.
