Afunja

Heaven is only One Love away.
Long Bio
Afolabi Lipede, also known as Flame, is a multifaceted artist celebrated for his originality and boundless creativity. Born in South London, he moved to Nigeria at the age of three, where he spent his formative and teenage years. At nineteen, he returned to the UK to pursue higher education, studying architecture for four years. In his first year, he won the 1st year architecture prize in recognition of his distinctive approach to integrating architecture and nature.

He later transitioned into music, developing his own sound known as Afunja—a rich fusion of African funk and jazz infused with diverse global influences. Alongside his band, also named Afunja, he performed and showcased this unique style for four years.

Continuing his multidisciplinary journey, he went on to study IT, computer science and multimedia, eventually working as a Frontend Web Designer.

For Afolabi, creativity is not confined to a single discipline—it is a way of life expressed in everything we do. He sees creativity as a spiritual force that cannot be owned or possessed. It flows like a river, abundant and free, and like a fruit tree, it bears ripe offerings while scattering seeds for new growth.
