'Once we finally face the reality that the systems of the world were designed to only protect the interests of the most cunning and oppressive powers, we can release any pretense of "reforming" them, and instead begin to dream up our own way of existing in the world.' - Cole Arthur Riley
Long Bio
Jaz is a writer and artist-curator, employing the Afro-Speculative to explore social space, community, and culture-building.

Utilising performance, digital, installation, and social practice, Jaz aims to contribute to and encourage a collective authorship of relief, care, and understanding that can lead to self- and group-actualisation. Her writing tends to spotlight community themes, manifesting as research, publication articles, and storytelling.

Jaz often views much of her work as part of a larger culture- and world-building project for Black British community & identity, which are in many ways still fledgling. Though her work is often contemplative, she enjoys embracing irreverence too. For Jaz, it's all about sense– and memory–making.
