From an early age, sitting with her mother while recuperating from operations, Vivian was interested in the nurturing, collaborative and accessible nature of arts and artistic methods. With a strong sense of the tactile, she asks:
What can be made from nature, by these hands?
Vivian’s exploration into combining and discovering different materials started with mark-making and drawing, then progressed to printmaking, felt and textiles. She is inspired by ways of communicating cultures through the use of natural materials.
As a Welsh learner, Vivian investigates aspects of both Welsh and Jamaican heritage, including folk culture, names, languages and stories.
